4.    We are saved by calling on the name of the Lord (Rom 10:10-15)

a.    First of all, Paul shows a sequence of events leading up to salvation

                                          i.    Send, preach, hear, believe, and then call

                                        ii.    Calling comes after believing

b.    Secondly, Paul does not explain how to call in these passages

                                          i.    We can see how to call from Paul’s conversion (Acts 9, 22)

1.    Paul was NOT saved on the road to Damascus

2.    Paul was blind, did not eat, and was praying

a.    He prayed to make this right

3.    Ananias told Paul to be baptized (Acts 22:16)

a.    After baptism his sins were washed and he had called on the name of the Lord

ii.    We can also see how from Peter (Acts 2:21, 38)

1.    Compare verse 21 to 38 and notice three comparisons

a.    Shall be saved = remission of sins

b.    Name of the Lord = name of Jesus Christ

c.    Call on the name = Repent and be baptized
